Joesph and Nicole had a lovely microwedding at the Blue Ridge Center for Environmental Stewardship in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. They had a handfasting ceremony in front of all their friends and family. Afterwards they did a beautiful dance to Hoizer’s Work Song. Then after their dance the best potluck dinner occurred with Cuban, Filipino, and American dishes. Joseph works at Lost Ark, so the drinks we also fantastic and featured some of their liquors. Their intimate affair was wonderful and I am so glad I got to meet them and their people and capture their day.

Sometimes bopping around is well worth the adventure. K and J popped up into town and we hit some great spots in our engagement session journey. We hit Green Ridge State Forest, Rocky Gap State Park, and then stopped at Locust Post Brewery for beers to wrap up our adventure and chat while checking out Tony’s fantastic art. I loved getting to capture the energy of this fabulous goofy duo in their own element on what is a typical date night adventure for them, but in my backyard. Thanks for driving up and catching some of the beauty of Western Maryland.

The B family just moved into the area recently and I figured there is no better way to celebrate fall then in Old Ellicott City. So we wandered around, soaking up the lights, the beauty, the foliage, and the overall wonder of Old Ellicott City in the fall. Mackenzie and Parker’s fall engagement session in Fort Ashby, WV was a stunning day. We spent the evening roaming around the farm where they are getting married and where Parker proposed. We eventually hopped in the back of the truck and enjoyed the gorgeous sunset that came to join us.

The M family does a yearly trip to New Germany State Park near Deep Creek, Maryland and they rent one of the parks cabins. The Twigg family came out to play again this fall. We soaked up the beauty of Washington Street in Cumberland, MD. We started at the Emmanuel Episcopal Church which was the sight of the original Fort Cumberland. Then we made our way down to the Gilchrist Gallery and enjoyed the tail end of their garden.

Claire and James tied the knot on a lovely fall day in their brand new home in Shepherdstown, WV. With their family and puppies all close by it was a wonderful intimate microwedding. With their mutual love of World War II history their home displayed historical photos all throughout it. Claire’s dress being perfectly on brand with the time period. We stepped outside their house to walk downtown and soak up some of their favorite parts of downtown Shepherdstown, West Virginia.

The Cat and her daughter celebrated their family unit and hopped in front of my lens before her daughter moved to Hawaii. We had a lovely afternoon playing around, goofing off, and even catching some art from our friend Bill Dunlap out in the wild.

Lexi, Ian, and Andie had me come to their lovely farm in Damascus, Maryland and capture their love. We took the farm truck up through the land and Lexi, Andie, and I enjoyed the wind in our hair and the gorgeous early fall weather. The farm is Ian’s family’s land so it was super neat to wander around and soak in the full beauty and memories that fill the land. Andie in pure farm dog glory photobombed all day and lived her best life as the star of the show. We bopped from field to field, greeting the various cows along the way. Considering this lovely pair met in veterinary school, I couldn’t think of a more perfect way to celebrate their love and capture their energy. I cannot wait until their May wedding where we will get to hang out with their loved ones and some amazing horses.

Heather and Logan’s maternity session was a creative way to create a beautiful day. We had planned on Spruce Mountain Lake, but with a hurricane in town that we couldn’t dodge before baby R was due to make his appearance. So, we found some light rain only at Seneca Rocks, WV and enjoyed the light rain as we adventured around the park. Then we drove into Cumberland, MD and got some extra awesome play time in with these fabulous gowns downtown in the shimmer of the lights.

Nina and Mark celebrated their combo Catholic/ Jewish wedding at Springfield Manor in Thurmont, MD right outside of Frederick, MD. It was a lovely smaller affair. Dani and Spencer’s wedding day at Deep Creek Lake was an absolute blast! Their main focus of the day was wanting to enjoy the day with their friends and family, and I think they succeeded. Their officiant was their next door neighbor in New Orleans who flew in for the affair. They had an amazing band rock the party that also came in from New Orleans. Stephanie and Kyle decided to elope in Swallow Falls State Park on a lovely August day. Kyle’s mom was there for assistance and emotional support. We met up with Heidi of Mountain Spirit and took the easy trail to our pre chosen location within the park. We got Stephanie into her dress as Kyle got dressed and then her and Kyle had the sweetest first look The whole day was intimate and wonderful. We frolicked in the beauty of nature and chatted and had a wonderful day. Major thank you to Heidi of Mountain Spirit for being an amazing officiant and meeting up with us.
